A friend of mine suggested Haven Holidays. She’s a teacher and had stayed at Craig Tara, in Ayr for a school trip and recommended it…and thank goodness!
Craig Tara was perfect. We all stayed in self-catering holiday homes which gave us lots of flexibility to come and go as we pleased throughout the weekend – and without being on top of each other. For those of us that didn’t want to cook, Diner’s Choice was available for just £12 per adult extra per day and only £6 per day for kids– with a massive cooked breakfast and a choice of three course evening meals.
There was loads to do on the park so ALL the kids were happy - including the grown-up ones! There’s a huge indoor leisure pool, 9 hole golf course, indoor & outdoor sports, kid’s clubs, and best of all a choice of evening venues.
The Isle of Arran was a real hit with everyone and we had lots of fun on the beach at Craig Tara – playing family games of rounders and crickets.
And organising the break proved a doddle! I had lots of contact with the Groups Team at Haven’s head office and they were really helpful. They organised a venue on the Park for us to have a private party for Mum and Dad on Friday night – and for the other nights we all joined in with the excellent live entertainment on offer on the Park.
I had help with the administration and loads of info about things to do and where to go in the area – which was very useful.
The weekend was really relaxed. The support I’d enjoyed from the Groups Team was matched by the welcome we received on Park. We ended up with 20 units of accommodation but apparently we’d have counted as a ‘group’ with just five, so it’s well worth getting a few people together for an event.
What’s more the price was very reasonable and made it an affordable break for everyone –and there were no hidden extras.
So – if you’re planning an event, party, or get-together give Haven a call.
We did and it was a resounding success!
