Caring for the environment
Not only is Haven the only UK Holiday operator with a full-time Environmental Consultant, we also have Green Teams to help us manage our Parks in a responsible and sustainable way.
Choosing a Haven Holiday can drastically reduce your carbon footprint. The important steps we're taking to reduce ours help to make it smaller still. The environmental awards our Parks have achieved underline our commitment to protect woodland and wildlife. We also believe going green can be fun.

Every aspect is covered from protecting local wildlife and flowers, to eco-friendly landscaping and recycling to saving water and energy and promoting local transport. As a result, every Haven Park has either a Gold or Silver Environmental Award.
Green Team Project
"Caravan Parks are the best way to bring people closer to nature" says Professor David Bellamy. "Bourne Leisure is fortunate to have some fantastic Parks with easy access to healthy activities, natural and historical environments and be at the cutting edge of combining business with the sustainability of the countryside."
You can become involved whilst on holiday by becoming a David Bellamy Family Park Ranger.

Looking ahead together
Our responsibility doesn’t just stop at providing the best possible holiday experience for you, your family and friends. We are continuously looking at new ways of helping the environment and working towards a sustainable future. Many policies are already in place; like our commitment to looking after our Park land, wildlife, birdlife and establishing Park Nature Reserves. Recycling programmes and measures to reduce our carbon footprint means that all our futures can only be greener and cleaner.

All out Parks have recieved the David Bellamy Award for our commitment to enhancing and protecting the natural world in and around our Park areas.
Haggerston Castle and Devon Cliffs have achieved the coveted Green Tourism Business Scheme Award for business efficiency, environmental management, waste, transport management, social responsibility and biodiversity.

Through a variety of new practices across our 35 Parks, we have reduced our total energy consumption by 10% over the last 2 years. This helps to reduce the CO2 emissions that are the biggest cause of global warming.

Just because you're on holiday there is no excuse to stop recycling. You'll find everything from cardboard and plastic compactors, to glass recycling bottle banks, as part of our green waste policy at all our Parks.

As water supplies come increasingly under pressure through climate change, finite resources and ever-growing demand, we have introduced many ways to conserve water and reduce our consumption.

Some of our Parks are in areas designated Sites of Scientific Special Interest, fifteen have their own or are near to protected areas. Six have Nature Trails, and others have their own Nature Reserves.
We aim to attract and protect wildlife at every opportunity - like the Little Terns and Knatterjacks at Presthaven Sands, and the Kittywakes at Devon Cliffs.

Our Brochure is printed on M Brite paper that has 70% of its pulp certified by the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification). Our printer is also PEFC accredited.

We want our holidays to provide access to nature. Our ever-popular activity ~ David Bellamy's Park Rangers ~ was created by David himself. Now run by qualified Park Rangers at Kiln Park, Perran Sands and Presthaven Sands, nature inspired FunStars at all our other Parks. It reveals the unseen and eye-opening miracles of nature right under our noses.
